Email to account manager when new account is assigned or created not working

Hi guys,

I created a process to email an account manager when an account is assigned to them.

When I create an account as the account owner I receive the email no problem. However, since I activated the flow notification email is not sending. Error says in the process session: User does not have send-as privilege.

  • I've checked the security roles and all have the function activated.
  • I went to option --> Email in Dynamics and enable Allow other Microsoft Dynamics 365 users to send email on your behalf

Can someone help me understand why it's working for me but not other users in the CRM.

    The easiest way is to use User Settings Plugin from XrmToolbox.

    HI Andrew, definitely worked when I asked a colleague to turn on: Allow other Microsoft Dynamics 365 users to send email on your behalf.  How can I turn it on for every users so they don't have to do it manually. Cheers

    First you have to create email box for the queue. I believe you will have to set it up in Office 365 Admin Center.

    The create a queue and configure email box of that queue to use that email box. Use that queue for outbound emails.

    I believe it doesn't work for other users because they do not have "Allow to send email on my behalf" turned on - when you do it from you CE - you do it only for your account and not for others.

    Thank you Andrew. This is a bit foreign to me when talking about the queue option. Do we have to set this up in O365 admin centre first?

    What I don't undersrtand is it's working for me but not the rest of users.

    According to your screenshot you use MacIOS. XrmTollbox is windows application available here - https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/

    You will have to either use windows laptop to run XrmToolbox or use some windows emulator (like Wine).

    Tool that you need is here - www.xrmtoolbox.com/.../ - User Settings.

    Alternatively you can train your users on how to set "Allow to send email on my behalf" setting in CE. Luckily you will have to do that only once.

    One more alternative way - you can configure queue and send that email using that configured queue in "From" field of "Send Email" step.

    So you have plenty of choices. I would recommend to use the last option with queue - it should be the easiest one and the one that would require less maintenance.

    Thank you Andrew, your question makes sense don't need the assign step in that case.

    For the Allow other...settings I did it as before, for access the Xrm toolbox I am not sure how to access that one. Do you?

    You should activate that "Allow other MSDYN365 users to send email on your behalf" for all of users. To make it in the most efficient way you can use "User Settings Manager" plugin of XrmToolbox and doublecheck that all users have security role that has privilege that allows to "Send email on behalf other user".

    One more question - why do you need first step in your workflow - assigning to "Owning User". I believe your workflow is triggered when account is assigned so what the point to call assign again?
