Hello,

I have a third party solution both in our DEV and Production environment that I want to remove, some of the forms and views from this solution does also exists in other solutions. What is the correct steps to perform to uninstall it in both instances without getting a lot of dependencies and other issues? Is there a specific order I need to remove things?

BR,

Emma

The answer is in your question. The dependencies affect the order in which you remove items.  You can't remove a component which has dependencies on it - unless all the components and dependencies are part of the same managed solution.

If there are dependencies on the components in the third party solution then you will have to deal with those dependencies before you can remove the third-party solution. For example, if you created a workflow that triggers off a custom entity added by the third party solution then you will have to delete the workflow first.

You'll need to deal with each environment separately.

    Hello,

Thank you for your very fast answer.

After I have removed all dependencies to other solutions in DEV, do I need to import it to production environment first? before I remove the solution in DEV and PROD? is it possible to remove a managed solution directly in Production?

    BR,

    Emma

Whatever you do in DEV, repeat in PROD. Yes, you can remove managed solutions in Production.

There is no difference to how solutions work in DEV or PROD.

    Hello EmmaCRMadmin,

Just complementing Feridun Kadir's comments, in case of issues removing the solutions specially Prod org, if you need you can also opt for a system or manual backup restore as docs.microsoft.com/.../backup-restore-environments.

    Thanks,

    Giselle
