Problem with OUTLOOK 2016 in AX 2009

Hello, 

When I try to send a email from AX 2009, I get the following message: 

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"

The email client is configurated correctly, because with another third app outlook is opened without problems. I read that the problem can be in the kernel version. What do you think? Any Solution?

    How/what e-mail are you trying to send? In AX, developers have a multitude of options on how to generate e-mails. If it is using Outlok MAPI, then it is possible that your Office version is not compatible with AX. There are classes, or .Net code which you could use to generate e-mail without MAPI, directly through SMTP or Exchange.

    You could also try finding the AX 2009 System requirements PDF document and also search Microsoft blogs to see what version is supported.

    Ok thanks.

    I have read in the PDF:

    "Office 2016 is supported with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 with Rollup 8 and the hotfix from Knowledge Base article 2830391".  

    I'll try to update it and I'll comment you.

    Ok no problem, so you are probably below version SP1 RU8. You could either use earlier office, or upgrade your AX deployment (code and data upgrade must be taken care of!).
