You can use your image as a resource in AX.

    here you go

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../cc621437.aspx

    Hi Suresh,

It is very easy. You need to set the following properties for your button control:

    ButtonDisplay

    NormalImage

    ImageLocation

There are plenty of examples in AX for this. Check CustFreeInvoice form for example, expand the design node -> Action pane -> Invoice actions tab -> Button group -> Command button - Edit button and check the above properties which I have mentioned. You can specify ImageLocation as File, AOTResourcec or EmbeddedResource.

Please verify and let me know if you have further queries.

    Thanks,

    Baber.

I think you have just skipped to read msdn article.

if you will add any image/file as Resource in AX, it will be saved in AX.

you need to create a new element in resources node of AOT

Add under resources node in AX as Sohaib mentioned. Then you can refer to it from properties of button control.
