cannot open RMS POS, error: row cannot be located for updating

I have restored the Store backup file (.bck) with collaton SQL_Latin1_CP1_CI_AS, I can open to use RMS POS without any problems.

However, after that I have changed the Store database collation to Thai_CI_AS, by using store admin>change collation, then I cannot open RMS POS, it pops up error "Row cannot be located for updating. Some values might have been changed since last read".   But the other RMS store apps i.e. Store manager works fine. Does anyone encounter this problem before?

My RMS is Version 2 with SP2  on SQL Sever 2005 SP2 and my master and temp database is Thai_CI_AS collation.

Is there anything concern on setup security in RMS or not? Because before I setup security in RMS, then change collation to Thai_CI_AS, POS works fine.

Thank you for any help.

I have exacty the same problem, I changed collation of database to match server collation, then I can't open POS(I still can use Manager). When I'm trying to open POS I can see exactly the same message "Row cannot be located for updating. Some values might have been changed since last read"

Anybod knows what can be wrong?

Hi  Run below query and it should fix the issue. Take a backup before you execute. This happens when you changed the DB collation after running/registering RMS

    DELETE FROM DatabaseMetaData

We apply the fix below what suggested. its work fine for me. But after applying the query

    DELETE FROM DatabaseMetaData

This will fix your problem but you need to change the cashier password after that.

If you didnot reset the cashier password that will not work.

    Thanks

    Umar
