Hi Andreas,
Please elaborate. What is the exact requirement? And where do you get stuck in detail? What are your attempts until now?
Hy,
thank you for your reply. The editable mapping is avaialable in "Map staging to target" when cretaing a new line.
I came to the situation to import Entity contact V2 which requires AssosiactedPartyNumber from the customer the person associates. My idea was to call a method to fetch the PartyID from the customer (CustAccount is supplied in datasource) while data are loaded into staging area using a function. So i tried to change the "mapping type" which is initial "=" to something else. "0" is available and opens the "function" field for editing a method name. Which methods are available at this point, or does it require customization?
Thank you again.
best regards, Andreas
The best way would be using computed columns or virtual fields which do require additional development. Have a look at the documentation: docs.microsoft.com/.../data-entity-computed-columns-virtual-fields
I think the easiest way to uploading contacts to save your time
Export customers with party id , v-lookup with contact sheet , upload :)
Did you get any clarity on how the mapping type/function could work?

Abel
That's the trouble with these answers from people who don't actually know the answer. Simple question from the OP - is there any documentation? People come here with the same question. All they find is answers from people who don't know, trying to suggest alternative approaches. So the question remains unanswered.
If anyone does know whether there is any documentation on using these features, please let us know. :-)
Don't be rude, dude. No, there is no documentation, but you may check my ancient blog blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../ and figure out that Andre was actually right: this is an obsolete technique and should not be used anymore in favour of the entity computed columns.
