Global Address Book Setting up a Customer from the Vendor Account

IN D365 F&O: When I create a customer account trom a Vendor account in Global address book, it links them together. How can I break that link? The reason. On my vendor side I need to update an address, but not on my customer side. However it updates both and this has been causing issues, so I need to know how to "break the link" but keep both accounts.

create a party ID in GAB

then on customer or vendor change the party association

Hi Vickie,

Rahul is correct here. In this way, it would also be possible to change the party type from organization to person or vice versa. I wrote about this many years ago: dynamicspedia.com/.../

Hello Vickie8346,

If the link is ultimately need to break; then why don't you just create 2 separate records for the same party? One should be created in All vendors form and the other one should be created in All customers form with a different address.

At the same time; you will be able to generate separate aging report in both AP and AR for the same party!

Hi Vickie8346,

Is it only because of the address that you want to break that link?

I am asking this because breaking this link can have some side effects that you don't want e.g. when you inquire the open balance, etc.

Would be great if you could provide some additional feedback.
