Masking sensible data for AX 2012 R2

Hi all of you, I am just thinking over how to deal with all the data that our AX developers on its devboxes playing with. I would like to mask some columns (pan card, NationalIdCar, names..

Whenever we update a non productive environment with PROD data we have this issue.

At the same time I entirely reject TDE strategy.

Any hint or comment would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Enric,

    It would be possible to write a script that will scramble the data. At one of our customers they replaced names with record IDs or other coding like customer account numbers.

    I agree with changing the data, rather then trying to keep and hide it.

    One of the easiest way is to run a SQL script as part of data migrations with Test Data Transfer Tool.

    Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) couldn't possibly help; it's a different kind of protection.
