Entering Serial Number on Inventory Adjustment Journal

Client has serialized items in inventory (purchased).  Previously, they did not setup Tracking dimension groups to accommodate this.  Now, they want to track the serial numbers on the items they have in stock.  Is it possible to manually enter a serial number in an inventory journal (they're thinking of adjusting the on-hand quantities out and then adjust them back in, with serial numbers) or is the only opportunity to record the serial number either at PO receipt or Production order completion?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Frank,

Yes, you can enter a serial number manually in the inventory journal.

Generally, the way I did it was to create a new item with tracking dimension and stop the old item.
