Hi,
Long story short, by doing an export, update and reimport of data I appear to have offset some of the records against each other so that the Primary Contact for an organisation doesn't now sit within the correct organisation and also the addresses have been misaligned by a couple of records there are also a handful of addresses that have been imported but there doesn't appear to be a record for them, they're sat in a different organisation!
I only realised this some time after doing the import and subsequently some records have changed, some new records exist and as I keep realising I can't just correct and re-import the old XML as "the record has been updated in Dynamics CRM after it was exported" :(
So, I'm trying to fix this and have now a XML file that has the correct organisation name, primary contact and address but the GUIDs are all out. I have a full download of the organisations that is about a month old and I've used this to cross check the GUID against the organisation name, however there are some new GUID's that I have data for, but weren't on the old list.
Is there a way to get a list of all the GUIDs and the original name of the organisation associated with it?
The organisation and primary contacts have data stored against them, I take it I can't just do an upload of my clean data (without the GUIDs) and it will match them by name, and create a new record if none exists?
I'm fairly new to this and thought I'd hit gold when I updated 3000 records in one go with new company information, little did I know that with one click I could overwrite everything without an easy restore!
Thanks in advance for any help,
Alex
