Error -2147220970

Posted on by 5

When saving a new case entity a user gets the error message below:

Exception Message: Participating entity record of stage... is not valid.  When I look it up the error code all it means is "there was an unexpected error".  Does anyone have any insight as to what it means or what causes it to appear?

At the risk of speaking too soon, the user hasn't experienced any errors today creating cases.  Maybe updating the browser was the answer.

Yesterday, I cleared the browser cache and found out Chrome needed to be updated (that was done).  So far the user hasn't experienced the error.

The browser cache has been deleted several times, didn't delete it from the PC though.

Did you delete cash from the user PC and Browser?

The permissions are exactly the same as other users who are not having any issues.

Thank you for replying Efrain, this is online.  The error appears after an initial save is attempted (the user fills out the information of the first stage then saves the record to continue).  Once the error appears there is no way to bypass it.  Out of 400+ users this is only happening to one person and I can’t figure out why.

Do you have any further details regarding this issue?  Is this on premise or online?  If on-premise then what is the version of D365/CRM?  Is this happening within steps of a BPF? Reproducing steps would help.
