Re-assigning a Team

Hi,

My client records sickness using a Leave and Absence Plan but only the managers can record this on behalf of their Team. This is controlled using rules in the associated workflow.

However, if the Manager is absent for a period of time, then they would like to be able to delegate the team to a covering manager, so that this person can enter the sick leave on their behalf. Would anyone know if there is a way to manage this other than reassigning the manager's position to the covering manager?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Mancini,

As André suggest on the Dynamics ideas site, you can search for ideas and vote for it or create a new one: https://ideas.dynamics.com.

    Hi Mancini,

I'm struggling with the idea to change the position as this can have other side-effects when the stand-in also has a certain team. However, in your scenario it looks like there is no other option.

    Thanks Andre for the reply.

The client is okay with delegating the workflow.  However, their issue is that they want a stand-in manager to be able to submit the sickness leave for the absent manager's team members.  As these team members do not report to the stand-in manager, he/she hasn't got access to them in the team area of the ESS and so can't submit their sick leave for them.  I can only suggest that the absent manager's position is reassigned to the stand-in manager, unless someone has a neater solution...

    Hi Mancini,

On the user options, you can define delegates for a period of time. During this period, all workflow will be assigned to the person setup as a delegate; regardless of his/her position. Not completed workflows still needs to be re-assigned.
