how to implement Workflow on Custom Table (Parent & Child)

Hi experts,

Can I have step by step document that how to implement workflow on custom table (parent & child). Working with stages like if submitted then WF won't allow to submit and so on.

I am using InventJournalWorkflowApprovalStatus (Base Enum) in my custom table.

Hi Ahmed,

To restrict access to the data in review and prevent resubmitting the workflow, you need to add X++ form logic that changes the editability of data sources and controls.

Hi @Ahmed Alam

1) You will develop the two workflows (1 for header and 1 for lines)

2) then you will join Header and line workflow, as discussed here in this thread

You can find many examples online about how to develop a new custom workflow in Dynamics 365 for finance and operations. Let us know if you cannot find any.
