Dear all,
i am trying to colse the month of August 19
but i m ending up with the following error
"Cannot close period Period 8 when there are source documents remaining to be journalized with an accounting date within the period.'
Anyone an help in that

Hello Muhammad Yousaf,
Another 'place' to look out for the pending transaction that prevent you closing the periods is the inventory closing and adjustment form. If you open the close procedure button, the first option (check open quantities) gives you a report that should list the pending POs / SOs that have to be completed before you can close the periods.

Take a look at link below, same problem as you and solution (I may not like the solution fully but atleast find root cause and decide your option). You can try searching LCS as well.

Do you also get a similar error message when you try to close the 2018 periods?
Previously you mentioned August 2019.

I agree with you, but the year i am talking about is 2018....
and our year closes in december
and our finance team wants to close 2018 in any case
so i must close all open periods of 2018

Is the finance team aware of the implications and do they know the different between putting a period on hold and closing a period?
I think you should explain them first to avoid any subsequent issue.
Does your fiscal year end in August?
If it does not then I would strongly recommend not closing the period at the moment but putting it on hold instead.

Why you want to close the period?
A closed period cannot be re-opened and as long as the year is not completely audited I would recommend not closing a period but putting them on hold only.
