Lead Source Field

Posted on by 10

Hello,

Please help me to set up a Lead Source in the Contact Field so that I can edit it if needed. Right now I can modify it while importing contacts. It is set to searchable and I can filter it with Advanced find or System View, however, I can't modify it in the Contact Information Field (Screenshots attached).

    Hi Oksi,

In form editor, you can rename one of the duplicate name form by going to Form properties > Display > Form name, after saving and publishing the form, back to Marketing App to check whether any of contact form name is changed.

    Then delete the unnecessary form.

(We can check how many and which forms are enabled to Marketing Application in App Designer.)

    Click the Marketing:

    Open in App Designer

Thank you so much. It does help.

I have found that I also have two Forms of "Contact" that I think I created before with "save the form as". I don't know which one is main as both are marked as default. That's why changes do not apply when I make them. It seems that in Dynamics Contact Information I can see a blend of these fields.

Do you know how to delete/merge it, as when I originally go to Merge Forms I can't find that form there?

    Hi Oksi,

You need to double click the Lead Source field to get its name property, then find it in fields of Contact entity.

e.g: There is a custom optionset field "Technology" to my Contact entity, its display name on form is Technology, but its name property is new_technology.

So to edit it, I need to search the field in fields of Contact.

Then you can add new option to the Lead Source field.

First, I'd check the name of the form you are looking at vs. are on.

Another thing to check, on the form editor, see if the fields are set to be displayed/hidden by default.  Double click on the field in the editor and there is a checkbox for this.

Could also be a business rule hiding it.

Also, could be some on load Javascript doing this, but more than likely its one of the first three.
