Mobile access to Dynamics NAV data

Posted on by 30

Hello,

We are trying go to do the below:

Sales reps (users) that are on the go, are able to search for existing customers, products (and their availability) and place orders

- All these details and functions are currently in Microsoft Dynamics NAV

- When the user accesses the mobile website, it is prompted to enter username and password. The authentication will be done through a session with NAV.

- Then it will have 2 options: Customers & Products.

- Parameters to be used for searching "Customers": Customer code, Name and wildcard search (using *)

- Parameters to be used for searching "Products": SKU, description, 6-levels (e.g. brand, type etc.) and wildcard search (using *)

- Once the option customer is chosen, the details that the user will be able to see are: What is currently in NAV incl. backlog order, backlog delivery with expected date for past orders

- Once the option products is chosen, the details that the user will be able to see are: SKU, Description, Stock, 6-levels (e.g. brand, type etc.).

- The user is only able to place order when in the customer screen as each customer has different prices for each product.

- The user will not be to place order when in the product screen.

- In order for the user to place an order (when in the customer screen), through a "Place Order" button, the user will be prompted with the product parameters search i.e. SKU, description etc.

- The user will search for the products, check its availability, add quantity and add to his/her cart.

- Once this procedure is completed, the user can check-out i.e. place order - Finally, the mobile website (through NAV) will confirm the order.

Can this be done out of the box (I can apprecxiate that some customisation may be required) or is there a partner solution that we cna leverage.

Thank you,

Alkis

    Hi,

well more or less. You have the Web Client as a standard way of accessing NAV from the web, and you can build a role center to fit yor needs. There are also AddOns which provide this facility. From what you write, Anveo WebDesk might be a good choice. This solution is very capable, scales well, has an offline capability for mobile devices (good thing, this), and can be completely configured from inside NAV.

    with best regards
