German eInvoice xml as CII (cross industry invoice)

Dear all,

I am working on a solution for e-Invoice Germany. The xRechnung, which is an xml in UBL format, is available in electronic reporting in the global repository.

The ZUGFeRD invoice is a pdf with embedded xml. Now comes the catch, the xml is to be in CII format and not UBL. The content is the same, but the tags and hierarchy is different. Microsoft doesnt provide a CII format for Germany, only UBL format.

My question is, is there any XML invoice in CII format available in the global repository?

I am afraid the answer will be “no”, however, I wanted to check with you, the community.

As far as I know, there is currently no CII-format XML invoice available in the Global Repository for Germany. Microsoft provides the German e-Invoice format (xRechnung) in UBL, while ZUGFeRD requires CII. Therefore, a CII-to-UBL transformation or a custom CII implementation would likely be required.
