Sales Tax Amount Origin differs from Journal Line

Hi all,

It seems that AX is increasing the Amount Origin for a taxable line in a journal, in the image you can see that the Debit line to be applied with a 25% sales tax is 2340.00 GBP, but when we open Sales Tax Transactions that amount increases to 2458.44 GBP.

Any help will be immensely appreciated, thank you.2017_2D00_10_2D00_20_5F00_13_2D00_07_2D00_37.png

    Hi Alexander Dena,

How is the sales tax calculation for this tax code setup? Do you calculate the tax from the amount incl. or excl. tax? Can you check this setting in the sales tax code form and compare it with the other setups that have been made?

In addition, can you check whether the Journal amounts are entered net or gross? There is a specific journal parameter available and it might be set different from what you expect.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Thanks Ludwig, you threw me in the right direction, but I had to change a simple parameter in GL Parameters first. By they way, do you have any thoughts on pros and cons of doing this?

    These are settings I had

    On GL Parameters>Sales Tax

    Calculation Method = Total

    On the Sales Tax Code:

Origin = Percentage of net amount

Marginal Base = Net amount of invoice balance <-This won't change unless you change calc method

It worked properly once I changed it to:

    On GL Parameters>Sales Tax

    Calculation Method = Line

    On the Sales Tax Code:

Origin = Percentage of net amount

Marginal Base = Net amount per line
