Field service settings in new Version

HI,

In latest Field Service I don't see some options like "Deactivate Workorder/booking when cancelled".

Also new version has new features like rebook and substitute resource on schedule board. When a resource is reassigned the booking is associated with new resource but what happens to the previous booking ?Does it get cancelled? I dont see the previous booking under cancelled

Thanks

Shabana

I believe that the Bookable Resource Booking just changes to the new Resource and removes the old Resource. The Bookable Resource Booking doesn't get cancelled. It just keeps the original.

    Hello shabbu022,

Both "Substitute resource" and "Rebook" allow you to assign a booking to another user. you are just changing the resource of the same Booking and you are not creating a new one.(so there is no any previous booking) .These are built for two different scenarios.

On the schedule board when you right click on a booking, you have:

    Rebook:

On the Work Order/Resource form you have two fields related to the coordinates (longitude and latitude). If these fields are populated in both resource and work order so the system is able to calculate the travel time. Rebook is designed for such cases.
To change resources for onsite bookings, use the hourly board, right click a booking, and “rebook”. So the system allows you to change the resource and also it can show you the travel time (if is enabled). In this case the system also goes to find the appropriate resources based on their availability and based on the filters that you see in the left section of schedule board.

    While

Substitute resource: Also allows you to assign a booking to another user. This is built to for location agnostic bookings since you don't recalculate travel for each booking when substituting a resource. In this case since those two fields may not populated on the work order (or you already know to who you want to assign the booking ) so you can use "Substitute resource" in order to change the resource of a booking. In this case the system doesn't suggest you any resources as you are doing that manually and it doesn't calculate the travel time.
