Specific report different between 2 environements

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello Community

I have an issue that i can't explain, and therefore can't fix. First of all, i'm a functional user, not a dev :)

My dev team designed a specific invoice report for a customer. The report is OK on DEV environment.

Deployment on TEST = OK, Report is OK.

Deployment on PREPROD = OK, Report is OK.

Deployment on PROD = OK, Report is down.

The issue on production is that the margin on the righ side of the report is cut, and the values are cut too.

See:

Report-cut.png

We found that it's not a margin issue, look at the difference of the report design on PREPROD :

And on PROD:

We compared the code, and there is no difference between PROD and PREPROD.

Anyone have a idea to help us correct this issue ? Maybe a setup that force the size of reports ?

The customer check the parameters on server and it seems that the setup is different between PROD and PREPROD.

Using PREPROD values seem to resolve the issue.

    Thanks for your help.

Crispin, thanks, i'll check that too.

I have no access to the PREPROD and PROD servers, i'll have to give my customer what setting must be verified. Can you tell me where to find the default settings parameters ?

Start > Settings > Printers > Print server proprieties ? Like on windows ?

I can see the font difference in the screenshot attached and I suspect some issue with the font since everything remains same as you find no difference when compared.

Nikolaos, the screenshots have been take from the project details through AOT.

We compare the code using the las updated xpo that should have been deployed. there is no difference between the XPO and the code on PROD and PREPROD. That means that the deployment has been correctly done and we have exactly the same thing on PREPROD and PROD. But obviously there is a difference.

I'll check the report server point with the team.

Where are the report design screenshots from? From AOT? Or from the SSRS reports folder?

And what do you mean by "compared code"? Did you compare the SSRS report that is in AOT?

One explanation is that you have the correct report in your Prod AOT but it hasn't been deployed to the report server.
