If the physical available is < 0, what happen, can we do more shipments? Thank you!

Seems "physical negative inventory" is selected for the Item's Inventory model group. That is the reason your available physical shows negative. If that parameter is selected, you can do the shipments even though you dont have the stock.(Here the assumption is that you have the stock but there is delay in updating the stock details in the system for some reason).

Yes- see he below anser- if your system is set to allown egative inventory, which it seems it is and is generally a recommended setting inorder not to hold up[ shipping - then you may get negative due to e.g not booking finished goods from a prodcution order till its closed but you need to start loading the lorry much earlier in order to generate paperwork before the end of a shift with whatever unbooked stock has been produced so far .

Backflush can also cause negative inventory -e..g if you ar e running stock continuoulsy form a vessel or tank -its a theoretical consumption and the plant is going to run as long as stock is physically available even if the calculated consumption says its not- in such cases a periodic stock adjustment is needed to remove the negative.

There are several warehouses, the available stock of all warehouses is ok, but only one warehouse is negative. Is this the way that AX 2012 is checking stock?, if the quantity of all warehouses is enough for shipping then it allows to ship out and ignore the following setting

Yeah there is parameter based on which system allows you to ship from warehouse if it finds the stock at least in another warehouse. This behavior will be achieved with below setting. Just have a look.

Storage Dimension group - find the warehouse "physical inventory" is unchecked

You not only can ship in negative -if so configured- bujt in the real world you have to otheriwse many logistic operations would grind to a halt.

Santosh D gives the best answer. If the physical inventory is unchecked, there is no check per warehouse, only for the site in total.

And no COGS updates will take place until the inventory is back positive from memory.

So in conclusion, in order to prevent ship negative in both the whole site and in each warehouse we will need to TURN ON/check these 2 options: Physical Negative Inventory and Financial Negative inventory?
