Preparing for Go-live but the connection latency is above 300ms

Hi,

We are in the phase of preparing for Go-live with D365 FO for our Cutomer in Gabon, FasTrack Team ask me to indicate what’s the mitigation plan for the latency values which varies between 800ms and 900ms

The region of the UAT environment (Standard acceptance Test) is the West Europe and we need to choose the same datacenter for the Production environment.

Appreciate any input.

Regards

I have the same question (0)

better check with your ISP  is there any possibility to deploy Azure express route
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/expressroute/expressroute-introduction
but the only thing express route is expensive.

Sorry for the delay, bu I asked the customer to check with his ISP the availability of Azure express route but unfortunately they don't have,  what can i do as mitigation plan for the FastTrack team

    Thank you

To me it seems that D365FO is not even officially supported in Gabon.

Anyway I'm not sure if there's much you can do to reduce the latency since there are no Azure data centers nearby.

What kind of usage are you expecting in Gabon? Is it "full on" usage or just some simple entries like project hours etc.

We are in the final phase of D365FO implementation for our customer located in Gabon, and I consider that it is a full on usage, we did integrations, the customer uses most modules of Finance and Supply chain

Thanks for the info. So, how did the testing go? Did the latency cause some issues?

We didn't notice any issues on testing, and the UAT environment looks healthy, but FastTrak team asked us to indicate the mitigation plan for such latency values, please what can I do ?

I suggest that you ask from FastTrack team what kind of plan they are expecting.

If you are happy with your testing, and if you did sufficient testing, that should prove that you can use the system succesfully with this latency.

Today in the morning, the customer checked the connection latency outside of the peak hours and it was 168ms, so I think the solution is to increase  the speed internet to compensate for the increased consumption of bandwidth during peak hours
