Journal lines is non editable

hi,

I have create a Daily journal in D365 fno and am facing issue that the journal lines are not editable even though it it still not posted.
I have not done any customization on the journal still its showing as non editable.

Is there any specific field which I need to check to fix this issue.
The journal is getting created via custom code and I have also compared the journaltrans table with a manually created one and its seems there is no change at that level.
Does the approved by field has any importance on this wrt editing and unediting of the records.

If journals are in approval workflow, lines are not editable and is not posted yet.

How do i check if it is in approval workflow and where is the setup to auto approve it

On the journal header form, select the journal in question. Along the ribbon (see below screenshot) there are 2 things to look out for.

1. The greyed out "approval" button will be lit up if a simple journal approval is configured for the journal name.

2. If a workflow exists, there will be a 'workflow' button that appears in this ribbon that you can select to view it's status.

Finally, you can also check on the Journal Name form:

If either of the highlighted toggles are set to yes, then there is an approval required on the journal, which is likely causing your issue.
