Export a portal from test environment to production environment

Hello,

I have for the last couple of weeks setup a Partner Portal (Customer Self-Service) in our Test Environment. It is now ready to get exported to our Production Environment.

However, I am having a bit of an issue when it comes to using the Export-function (https://powerapps.microsoft.com/da-dk/blog/powerapps-packaging/). I am a System Administrator and I have given myself the Security Roles of Environment Maker and Export Customizations (Solution Checker). The Export-function does not appear. I can't seem to find a workable solution.

Does anyone know why, I don't get the Export-button?

The Portal-app is still in "Trial".

Thanks a lot for your fast response Lasse.

    We will also test it.

    Hey Tobias,

    It worked perfectly for us.

You only have to follow the steps in these two guides:

1: docs.microsoft.com/.../download-tools-nuget  - For downloading the Configuration Migration Tool. It provides guidelines on how to.

2: docs.microsoft.com/.../migrate-portal-configuration - Follow the guide for Export/Import-properties and how to.

I hope this helps you. And I, unfortunately, don't have any hints or tricks - I just worked my way through the guides.

    Good luck!

    Hello Lasse,

we are also started an new Partner Portal project right now and of course want to develop this in test environment first, too.

So the question for us also is, if the export after development from test environment and import to prod environment via the Migration Tool worked for you?

Do you have any other hints or tips?

Would be very nice to hear form you.

    Cheers

    Hey Liliana,

    Thank you for your answer.

I will try to use the Migration Tool, as you suggested.  Otherwise I will open a Support Ticket.

    Cheers!

RE: Export a portal from test environment to production environment

    Hi Lasse,

When we want to migrate our Portal customizations we use the Migration Tool to migrate all our data to our Target environment Dynamics 365, as you can see on following link:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/portals/admin/migrate-portal-configuration#export-portal-configuration-data

I'm not aware of exporting the Partner Portal solution from Powerapps side, in this case the best approach here is to open a Support Ticket with Microsoft and ask for this answer.

Because with this way we don't have sure if the button doesn't appear due your Portal-app is a trial or due the powerapps, the blog that you pasted here is old 2017.

    Best Regards.
