Hi all,

I'm using DF365 and I want to import bulk product images of around 100,000 products. I've searched for the solution and I also want help from anyone who has done it successfully.

I found these links but not sure what is the best solution

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/inventory-how-import-item-pictures

https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/microsoft-dynamics-ax-forum/189225/dixf--import-product-images

Please let me know.

Thank you

Regards,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi KZOo,

You're first link is for Business Central and not F&O.

So I think the second option is best if you're on D365 Finance.

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

I haven't used the data entity below but I think this can be used to upload the image, It has a checkbox for 'isProductImage'.

    Hi,

I just tried to import the image using data entity 'Product document attachment'

step 1: Create an export processing group for 'Product document attachment'

step 2: download the folder, this will download manifest file, PackageHeader file, and Excel template

Step 3: create new Folder 'Resources', Add subfolder named 'Product document attachments' and add all the images in it.

    pastedimage1596566186968v3.png

Step 4: Fill the excel sheet with data like below:

    pastedimage1596566281271v4.png

Step 5: Create a Zip folder for this, Make sure in zip there is no subfolder and if you open zip you see 4 files/folders like below (otherwise you get an error while importing)

Step6: Create new Import project with this package (should look like below)

Step 7: Import now and check the data on Released Product

    Hi KZOo,

Vinit gave you the perfect manual for importing the product images. Note that in step 4, the AttachmentFileName (column N in the example above) is the link between the product and the file in the Resources directory.

    Hi Vinit

Thanks a lot for the help you've provided

Can you please tell me where is this Data entity "Product Document Attachment" or will I have to create one like this?

Can you please tell me the steps in little bit more detail?

    Hi KZOo,

Product Document Attachment is Standard Entity.

If you don't see it then Please do refresh data entities as below:

    Hi,

I haven't seen this error in the past.  Did you create the Zip package with correct folder structure? It seems like D365 is not able to access images. Can you attach the Zip file as well so I can check.

And please see this error as well when I upload the zip file with images

    Hi,

There is problem with Zip file.

When you open the zip first there is folder 'Product document attachment' then it has manifest and other files. When you open the zip , all the files should be there on the same level. NO sub folder. When you create the Zip select the actual files and folder and then Zip. Do not zip the folder where these files are. I had faced the same issue when I did it for the first time.
