What field do you mean? The number of the generated posted shipment document? You need to setup a number series for that. Or do you mean the external document no?
i have removed it but it remains the same
It's a settings in Location of your sales order (Require Shipping mark).
You need to remove the mark or push Create Sales shipment button in your sales order and post it.
