Stopped field-Stopping Reason -Default Order Settings in Released Product

HI All,

Greetings

I want to have a  reason (description field) when the "Stopped checkmark" is checked n Released Products-->Default order Settings.

The best practice is make use of any existing used field in the table rather than adding a new text field .

Any idea if Ax has any field which can be used as " Reason" field when the Stopped checkbox is clicked(apparently to indicate a item is not used any longer)

Regards

nazrat

    Hi nazrat,

There are no fields on default order settings that can store the reasons you are looking for. The customization is little tricky as well as there are multiple tables involved.

Suggest that you leverage the "document handling" to store such notes on default order settings page.

    Thanks,

Thank you Satish again for your guidance. I have suggested the client to make use of Document Handling feature. Wating for them to come back on the same. Else have to develop it by adding a description field to the tables involved.:(

Noted. We can suggest alternatives but if customer can justify the cost for customization, I may be worth it. Field addition may be valid for reporting etc.

    Thanks,

    Hello nazrat,

I would recommend that you check the electronic signature functionality.

It is not like a reason code but it might do the job in your case.

    Please see: docs.microsoft.com/.../global-usa-electronic-signatures

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

    Greetings

Can someone guide me how should I check the DocuRef(attachment table) if there is record present when we click on Stopped checkbox in default order page

My client is ok using the  Document Attachment functionality but can make it that the item number can only be stopped if there’s attachment.

How should I ensure that there is value if when the checkbos Stiopped is ticked. Possibility is the " DocuRef"  table can have same set of values if the checkbox is not tiked

    Hi NDingankar,

Currently the document handling and any fields are not linked to each other. If you want to put this check in place then it will require a customization where when user clicks the stopped check box, it will need to check if record exist in docuref table for a selected record and only if it does then allow the stopped check box to stay check. else uncheck and show message to user.

This would require customization. You also need to think through how to handle multiple stopped / unstopped. E.g.

User enter notes and stop the item.

later the stop check box is cleared.

now user wants to stop it again,... is the previous notes still valid. Handle with user training and restrictive access and this can be handled without customization. Will let you decide how to proceed.

    Thanks,

    Satish Panwar
