Design getting disturbed based on data on the SSRS RDP Report

Hi,

I am facing some issue as detailed below:

There was a report customized by one of the vendors earlier. They have used 3 text boxed in a line. Based on the new requirement, I have simply removed these text boxes and added a table instead. Now the report data needs to be Printed on the Pre-Printed Cheque that we have.

Now I have tested out the changes on my DEV with data lets say A, it worked fine with proper alignment. After testing, I moved my changes to Test, but on test when the testing was done with the data lets say B, the alignment of the data got disturbed and the data is not printing in the proper alignment on the pre-printed cheque.

Furthermore, when I moved to my DEV, I again did a test with the same data "A"  with which I did my successful testing earlier,  but again the alignment of the data got disturbed considering the fact that I did not do anything to my design.

Can you please help me how come the alignment is getting disturbed firstly depending on data and secondly after deploying to TEST or retesting the report on DEV itself.

I can do the changes, but I need to understand the root cause for this weird behavior of alignment getting disturbed as we have Pre-Printed cheques, slight alignment issue would lead to issue.

Sincerely,

Muneeb

Could you tell us more about what you mean by "getting disturbed"?

In general, you may have different data (e.g. you have longer strings in TEST than what you used for testing and SSRS make room to make all data visible), different printers (such as different widths of printable area), different regional settings (e.g. longer format of dates) and maybe a few other things.

    Hi Martin,

    Thank you for the same.

Please find the details of the issue as below:

    6505.Report-1.jpg

    1. My data increases in the Red BOX depending upon the # of records.

    2. I have to print the data on the Pre-Printed form.

    3. Now Issue is when I am executing the report containing [Case-1] Only 2 Records [Case-2] Only 4 Records. In come records the string is long enough so that it spans to more than one line.

    4. Now when I see the report for Case-1 & Case-2 as said above, the content below the Red Box and Above the Red Box gets disturbed and hence does not print on the Pre-Printed form with properly alignment.

How can we FIX the height of Area above RED box and Area below RED box as fixed so that the alignment never disturbs.

I have even tried to keep the data above RED box in Header Section and data below RED box in the Footer Section but still I am facing the same issue.

Can you please suggest me how can I resolve this alignment issue.

    Sincerely,

    Muneeb

    Hi,

    Thank you.

I figured out the exact root cause of the issue.

Earlier a text box was used with height is 5 Inch. So the multiple record's text was concatenated earlier and this big text used to fit the size of 5 Inch height.

Now I have replaced this text box with tablix to hold values in different rows rather than concatenating. The moment  I have added this, I am getting this issue of the below content getting disturbed.

    Any solution for this issue.

    Sincerely,

    Muneeb
