Does the contact reached quota ever reset to zero?

My company is interested in knowing if our contact reached quota in the marketing platform will ever reset to zero, or does it continue to accumulate contacts indefinitely? I understand that you can true down your quota when you reach your contract renewal, however, it seems almost obscene to us that the contacts reached quota would continue to accumulate indefinitely, as some contacts we interacted with years ago are no longer monetizable. I would love some clarity from Microsoft on this, as the documentation never specifies if the quote ever resets.

If you have just renewed on VL, you are likely seeing the 75k + the 60k while the old contract is In Grace Period. This is expected behavior since all subscriptions will pool in a tenant, and subscriptions that are In Grace Period are still accessible for ~90 days after the agreement expired.

RE: Does the contact reached quota ever reset to zero?

My company just had our renewal at the beginning of September. Our original agreement had a 60,000 contact limit, and we wanted to increase to 75,000. But, like James was mentioning, we understood that at renewal, that number was reset, meaning that all the "bad" contacts we had eliminated over the current contract (hard bounces, unsubscribes, etc.) would be removed from the count and we would start fresh. The renewal went through beginning of September, and rather than our Total Purchased Quota limit being 75,000, it is now 135,000. So it does look like, even at renewal time, that contacts accumulate indefinitely. But this is confusing, because we don't have 135,000 marketing contacts, we have closer to 55k valid ones right now. Assuming the entire count was going to refresh, and adding in our average growth, 75k was to leave room for growth over three years. If we knew those numbers were just going to add together, we probably would only have purchased 15k extra, because the 55k good ones are already included in the numbers.

Long story short, this is not resolved even during renewal with Microsoft sales. We are working from our side with them to see if we can get an answer still, but if there is anybody over here who knows, clarification would still be appreciated.

The Quota limits page shows the total quota levels you have purchased and how much of each quota your organization has already used.

To see how much of each quota you've used, go to Settings > Advanced settings > Other settings > Quota limits.

True down is allowed during contract anniversary.  You will need to work directly with your purchase channel (EA, CS, etc.) for True Down of the contacts.

    Hi James,

If no clarification referred to the topic was found, you could contact to Sales for inquiry, by sending a request or calling the phone number.
