Plug-in Registration Tool on premise

Hi,

I am trying to connect to Plug-in registration tool for an on-premise instance. I am getting an error that "Metadata contains a reference that cannot be resolved". I am System Administrator on that particular CRM instnace but i don't have access to that server.

If we need to connect through plug-in registration tool do i need to have access to that server too or as long you are System Administrator on CRM instance is fine?

When are you getting this error? Immidietly after the login? Is that an IFD installation?

    Hi ,

Did you able to connect earlier with same downloaded tool?

I am asking this because there might be following reason you are getting this iasue-

    1. Check internet explorer proxy setup , disable proxy and try to connect.

    2. Download the SDK which is CRM 2013 compatible and try again.

    3. Check any firewall in the network which restricts you to connect metadata.

    4. Make sure you are providing correct organization service url. Revalidate once by going to settings -> customization-> developer resource.

    Hello,

The following could be the causes for this error... Please check these and use appropriately

    1. Either the instance URL you specified was not correct

    2. U forgot to mention the Port number available for your On premise version

    3. U have given the domain name while connecting via Plugin registration tool kit

Thank you..hope this helps to find the root cause...

    Cheers,

    PMDY

RE: Plug-in Registration Tool on premise

    Hi Goutam,Plug_2D00_in_2D00_Reg.PNG

Thanks for the reply. I tried most of these options. I didnot connect to this on-premise instance earlier. This is the first time i am connecting. Here are my observations.

    1. Proxy is disabled.

    2. I have downloaded the 2013 sp1 compatible Plug-in Registration tool.

    3. I dont think any network restrictions exist i am able to open all the urls in browswer. How to check whether the network restricting you want me to check in fiddler at he time of connecting?

    4. Can you please validate the below inputs to Plug-in registration? May be am i doing some thing wrong for On-premise.

Also do i need to have access to Server to connect to the on-premise CRM instnace? I am system administrator on CRM, i believe that is sufficient and its not required to have access to the server where CRM is installed. Below are the values i am providing.

Can you please validate the values from screen shot. I am using the same url that i found in developer resource and also i tried to provide the server as well instead of CRM url but no luck.

I tried using default credentials option on Plug-in registration tool as well that also did not work.

I tried to use the SSL as well, considering the url contains https but no luck.

I tried with and without domain name that also did not work

I am not aware of the port? If the port is different then it should show in developer resources url right, because it displays the port. When i trype the developer resource url i am able to connect in browser. I tried full URL till the end of .svc and also just the name up to .net but no luck.

This is very important for me, if you can look into it and validate then that would be helpful.

    Hi Srikanth,

Yes after login. This is AD installation not the IFD.

    Hi ,

I can see you are not providing correct url .

In the server text put only below server name  or ip address.

    Server : mcs-sss.dev.tti.net  or ip.

Port: you should choose SSL if it's https.

Authentication Source : Active directory / ADFS (Try with both)

Try with this and let me know .

    Hi, Goutam..

Thanks. It seems the On-premise setup itself is different.

I will update you once i try again. So far no success but figured out the URLs setup is different. I will keep you posted.

    Hi Goutham,

I was able to figure out the issue. Windows Identity was creating problem. I have reinstalled from Windows Components on my machine and its solved the problem.

Yo tengo este problema al tratar de Guardar el registro de la pantalla. Es una pantalla nueva que he empezado desde cero.
