Is there any way to get the form automatically open with the last filter used without clicking apply filter?
Is there any way to get the form automatically open with the last filter used without clicking apply filter?
Hi Elie,
From a broad, generic question, you want to a specific question. In this case, you can only achieve this with a customization.
Hi ER,
To my knowledge this 'smart' cross form filters are not available.
In the older versions that was possible but with AX2012 this does not work the same way as in previous AX versions.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Dear Ludwig,
kindly note that i added this screenshot to explain more about my issue.
in the first screenshot at level of line items (inventory trx) when selecting a batch number, the system show me all available on-hand quantities/batches in all warehouses.
in the second screenshot also at level of line items (inventory trx) when selecting a batch number (Range inventory dimension selected), the system show me only available on-hand quantities/batches in the selected warehouse.
in the third screenshot, if there are multiple batches for one item, i am obliged to go to inventory --> reservation (it will open the reservation form (screen 3)) but as the screenshot shows all warehouses are available and the user is able to reserve manually the quantity requested from any warehouse.
is there a way to filter automatically the reservation form on the warehouse selected in the transaction line item??
Regards,
ER
Hi Elie,
I think that you would have to modify something.
Not much but I don't see a standard feature or parameter that would exactly do what you are looking for.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Dear Ludwig,
Thank you for your continuous support, reply.
Cues and favorites don't work for this case. is there a way to call a query/filter when opening the reservation form?
Regards,
ER
Hello ER,
For AX2012 we have the concept of cues that you can apply and create for example tiles that open you a form in a pre-filtered way.
Another option that we have in AX2012 is using favorites and editing the query for those favorites. Doing that allows you filtering specific records as you want.
Might not be exactly what you are looking for but maybe an alternative.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Dear Ludwig,
Thank you for your cooperation. Please note that I am working on ax 2012 r3 CU13.
When using inventory--> reservation in any transaction, it should filter the warehouse in the reservation form based on the warehouse at level of line item. is it possible?
Regards,
ER
Hi André,
Please note that I am working on ax 2012 r3 CU13 and using the reservation form in picking list journal (Production orders). the targeted filter is Warehouse X and it should have pre-defined ranges.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Hello Elie,
Are you operating AX2012 or D365FO?
Based on your tags, I would expect that you are operating D365FO.
In D365FO you can make use of views that can be used to filter the specific data you are interested in.
This does not save the last query but one that you defined.
Another option is the 'automatically update query parameter' that you can setup in your user settings.
This seems to be close to what you are looking for.

Hi Elie,
Can you elaborate? Which exact form are you referring to and what filter are you targeting here? Should the filter have pre-defined ranges or could it be changed by the users on each interaction with this form?
What exact version of Dynamics AX are you using?
