NST Startup Account TMP Files Accumulating, Okay to Delete?

Customer's Dynamics NAV 2015 Service Tier uses a Windows domain user account for the service login.  We noticed that the %TEMP% folder has accumulated over 10,000 tmp files dating back to when the service was installed and they have been gradually growing bigger, now up to about 11MB each.  Can someone confirm whether or not it is safe to delete these tmp files and suggest what may be needed for the tmp files to be less permanent.  Thanks.
