General Journal Line Number increment

Hi All ,

During import of the General Journal lines in AX 2012 using DIEF or Excel Addin Line Number is mandatory field .

I got struck how to define the line number ?

For example : I have the Journal header Number  -MS0001 Under this need to create the 10 voucher lines .

Could any pioneer help me how to consider the line number increment for the 10 voucher lines under one voucher number ?

    Hi,

    You can use any value for line numbers, since they're just for identification of the line. Personally, I like to use an increment of 10, just in case I want to add some line between others.

    When i created the lines manually in the General Journal for 10 vouchers , line number is updating as

    1

    -1

    -2

    -3

    -4

    -5

    Even i defined the System parameters - Line number -10.

    Can i know what would be the reason ?

    It creates a negative number when your active record is the first one and you click on new. If you press down (record needs to be saved), it will generate a positive number. If your active record is in the middle, it will create a number in between.

    As you can see from this default behaviour, the number doesn't really matter. :)
