Voucher Transaction Inquiry does not return any data

Hi All,

We have 1 user that cannot get the voucher transaction inquiry (GL>Inquiries>Voucher Transactions) to return any data. I have checked it seems to be fill out correctly. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to resolve this? I have tried defining various accounts and removing other filters but was still not able to get it to work. Where should I check?

This is AX 2012 R2 by the way.

Thanks for the help!

Do a trace in SQL Server when the user is opening the voucher transactions. By looking at the query in SQL you will be able to tell why he or she is not seeing any data.

Hi, As you mentioned that it is for 1 user, did you verify permission of the role assigned to that user? if it is happening with the other users of the same role. I suggest to test it by assigning some higher role to make sure it is not because of permission. If you have already tested security part then debug and see what query is generated, specially voucher number.

Let me know if you have tested all and still the same issue.

Hi, As you mentioned that "you checked and it seems to be fill out correctly", it seems a security permission issue.

Is there any error like "No access" coming while opening voucher transaction screen from this user or user is able to open screen and cannot see data?

You can check either this user has access to security privilege "View ledger voucher information". You have to provide this privilege in order to view ledger voucher transactions.

    Hi Faisal,

Thanks for the reply. I just checked and she does indeed have the security privilege you mentioned. There is no error while opening the screen, it just opens and it is blank (I have verified that there should be data for the specific account).

Thanks again for your reply everyone!

What about record level security? Have you verified that it is not stopping this user to view data.

You can also try giving system admin role or some higher role to this user and see either data is showing or not. Just to be on safe side can you run AX from this user on different machine, sometimes it happens with user + machine.

I am sorry for reviving this 2 year old thread, but currently Im running into the same problem as well. May someone guide me in the "Trace SQL server" method? Is this something which can be done in Dynamics 365 too?

Edit: I just found out the problem, which I realized it is slightly different from the OP (Original poster). by manually checking everything, without using the trace SQL server method.

The problem lies within the batch transfer rules, a parameter which could be found under General Ledger >> Ledger setup >> General ledger parameters.

There are different transfer mode, and the once which you want to reflect instantly to show real time result would be the "Synchronous" mode.

Have a look at the screenshot below and hope this post do help someone out in the future.

PS: I just realized this is thread is targeted at AX2012, but the environment which I am working on is Dynamics 365 for Operation. I personally have no experience worknig with AX 2012, but if you could find such an option there, you could always try it out and see for yourself.
