Infolog is getting cleared

Hi

 

When running a batch job we are trying to throw an exception but due to retry in batch jobs functionality the batch job is executed again and previous info-log is getting cleared how to retain the previous error log 

Kindly provide suggestions

    Let me explain the scenario
     
    we are configuring the batch job in
    system administration > inquiries > batch jobs
    with maximum retries set to one
     the batch job is  non retry-able
     
    so  we have removed the number sequence setup and and running the batch job to terminate  it abnormally since retry is set to one the batch job is trying to rerun for second time and batch job status is set to error
     
    Since  rerun is happening  the first  time  messages are getting  cleared and only second time error messages are coming in batch job history>infolog
     
    My QA is mainly  can we store the first time messages and display it  when retry happened or is this the limitation of functionality

    I believe you should see details of the execution in System administration > Inquiries > Batch jobs > Batch job history. Isn't it the case?

    Yes Martin, I was talking about D365 F&O  batch jobs.

    D365 consists of many applications, such as Finance and Operations, Sales or Business Central. You're asking in D365 general forum, therefore it's not clear which product you have in mind.
