When trying to run finsql.exe to open the dev environment of 2013, I get "Error 2 in Module 1".  Any thoughts??

At times it works by deleting the zup files..

Go to command prompt > del *.zup /a/s

If it doesn't work, better try reinstalling the NAV client...

that means that the finsql.exe can be run from dos shell with parameters.

    for that follow blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../new-finsql-exe-command-prompt-options

i could reconstruct your error simply by copying the finsql.exe to an empty folder. after running it i got exactly that error. the conclusion, as i wrote before, at least one file - one of the assemblies, which are needed by finsql.exe - is missing. this is only possible by a failed installation.

Anyway it looks like file is inaccessible; either you do not have permissions to execute that, or the file is somehow blocked by another user.

What do you mean with parameters?  All I did was double click on the executable and that error comes up.  I just tried it again, using 'run as administrator' first, but got the same error

"Error 2 in module 1" means "file not found". do you run finsql with parameters ?

Well, there are no zup files but, it could be the system rights. I am logged into a client's remote desktop.  I will see if their tech people can do it with some admin rights.

The official explanation of the error: 65538 #Err_OS_FileNotFound

Might be no system rights to access file?

    Start checking here:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../ms681382%28VS.85%29.aspx;MSPPError=-2147217396

    Try also cleaning ZUP files.
