BC: Sales Pipeline (funnel chart) Reporting Errors (?) And $Amount

(0) ShareShare

Background: I created 1 opportunity, put in 2 stages - stage 1 and 4. In stage 4 of the sale cycle in opportunity, I did 3 updates on stage 4. Only 1 of the update in stage 4 is active, see pic 1 below.

Q1a: In the Sales Pipeline chart or funnel, see pic 2 below, when the cursor is hovered over it, the funnel report "...... opportunities: 3", anyone knows why?
If it reports".... value proposition: 3", I can understand but it says 3 opportunities when there is 1 only.
Is there an error in the funnel reporting language?
Q1b: If there is 1 active line in the stage, should it report 1 or 3 as currently it reports 3 opportunities? It should be 1 value proposition (not opportunity in my humble opinion) as only 1 is active. Is this another error in the way it presents the data?

Q2: Assuming there are multiple opportunities created and reported into the Sales Pipeline, can the funnel show the total sum of the $ value in each stage of the sale cycle? It does not seem to show any value other than no of opportunities. Do we have to use a handheld calculator to add up to the total $ value by opening the table in each stage of the funnel?
Thank you in advance for your response and help.

    Hello,

The way the sales opportunity works is explained here:

    www.youtube.com/watch

Hope it helps. If not, please do report back into this forum.

    Thanks.

Hi Marco, Thanks for your reply. I saw the video, the issue is not so much how to create opportunities and the sales cycle but how to explain how the funnel report works. In one opportunity, the same stage has been triggered once and an update is triggered later. In the funnel, under that particular stage which is triggered twice in 1 opportunity, that stage reports 2 opportunities though it should be 1. Eg. Opportunity 0001 has 2 repeated sales cycle stage at step 3, funnel would report step 3 as having 2 opportunities - why or what is the logical explanation? I would understand if step 3 counts as 1 opportunity (no matter how many updates on same step, the opportunity should still be 1 count but the funnel reports the multiple repeats as multiple opportunities).

    Hello KL,

Hope you are doing well. I have asked around and the answer was that this needs analysis in standard BC or standard NAV. Maybe you can raise it via your partner or CSP to Microsoft support.

    Thanks.

    Hi Marco,

Thank you very much, I guess I have to do that.

    Best Regards.
