We have a purchase approval workflow.
One of our emplyees is absent and we need to re assign his "duties" to a peer. The peer is not part of the workflow.
If we use the user->options->delegate path, the user who is assigned the new approval task can´t approve because his security role is different to the ones the original user.
Are we doing something wrong? Does the user with receiving the delegation must have the save security privileges of the delegating user?
Any link to an article that can enlighten us? A worflow for dummies document would be great.
TIA
Sergio

I have the same question (0)you are correct in your assumption. if you will delegate duties of approving workflow to another user, it will work only if other user has access of that data entity for which workflow is intended. you don't need to do any change in workflow configuration. just make sure that supposed recent approver should have enough security roles/privileges to approve these instance.
Moreover if your absent employee is on very long leave, you can setup to auto-route all his/her workflow instances, to another person, using setup. This can save you to route each workflow instance manually.
