I just applied the feature pack GP 18.5.1596 to GP 18.4.1434 and received the message "An Unknown error occurred when initializing the conversion". I clicked OK and it continued and when I checked the DUINSTALL.LOG file there is nothing to indicate any issues. Has anyone else experienced this? I will be checking this out more fully once the upgrade is completed.
This is the same message I had received back in the days of GP 2015. Both versions of SQL were 2019 and the compatibility levels of the databases were all 2019
I've done a few test upgrades from various versions of 2016, 18.0, 18.4 and 18.5 to the newest 18.5.1596 and haven't seen anything, nor have we seen cases mentioning the error message at all.
When does the error show, when logging into GP after the upgrade completes?
Any third parties or customizations being loaded?
Derek, this is the same message I got when I did a GP 2015 R2 upgrade. You will it in this forum. Your only option is to click 'OK'. It continues on to update the DYNAMICS database and then all company databases and looks normal.
I had just copied these databases to a new server in preparation for a test. If I do not get this message in production I am going to guess it had something to do with the restore. DYNSA was set to be the owner and SQL 2019 was the compatibility level.
yeah, odd to see those type of errors in Utilities......if you can click OK and continue with the upgrade, should be fine.
