Is there a way to create a menu item / button in AX that points to and opens up a web hyperlink?

Hi
I think not directly. But you can hook the menu item to a class or write the code to open the web site directly in a button. Then you can call WinApi::shellExecute and point to the URL. This will trigger the systems default web browser to open the link. msdn.microsoft.com/.../aa847349(v=ax.50).aspx
Another way woul be to embedd the browser via ActiveX Control.
Kind regards
Andi
Thanks Andi, that did the trick. In fact ,I found that you don't even need to go to the bother of creating a class and code to hook the button into. There is already a SysShellExecute Class in AX that facilitates the calling of WinAPi ::ShellExecute. All you need to do is fill out the address in the Parameters.

Hi DavidR, can you provide detail as to what steps I need to take to add a URL link in AX2012. I looked at the link you provided but unfortunately I couldn't figure out where to start in AX. I basically want to add a hyperlink anywhere in AX to a SSRS report.
Never mind, I figured it out.
Thanks!
