Adding a Custom Entity to Timeline in Case in Engagement Hub CRM 2016

Hi,

We have a custom Entity called "Comment", similar to Notes. We use the Interactive Case view and would like to make it so that it appears on the TimeLine alongside notes, phonecalls and EMails. We are using CRM 2016 and the entity "Comment" has already been created and cannot be re-created as it contains a lot of data.

I am thinking that perhaps we need make "Comment" and Activity, but the options "Define as an activity entity" and "Display in Activity Menus" are greyed out as they were not selected when creating the entity. There is info online to Export the solutions and set <ActivityTypeMask>CommunicationActivity</ActivityTypeMask> but this is already present in the XML when I export it.
