So when you have PR that is approved but not released yet and you want to change the accounting date period for budget purpose and closed period for example period ledger 11 is closed and you need to release it in 12 the system will give you error msg the ledger period is closed.

To resolve this issue, one approach is to change the accounting date on the Purchase Requisition (PR) to an open period before releasing it. In your case, since period 11 is closed, update the accounting date to fall within period 12, which is open, and then proceed with the release. This can typically be done in the PR header or line details before final approval.
Another option is to consider if your budget control configuration allows flexibility with closed periods. For some setups, enabling budget adjustments or pre-encumbrance within closed periods can be possible through configuration adjustments in Budgeting Parameters.
