Excel Export doesnt work

Hi all,

Some of the users are using NAV by logging remotely onto the terminal server. One user is unable to export anything to excel (2010) from his login. It just gives a blank page. All these users are part of a restricted group on the terminal server with different logins.

This traces back to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Excel Add-in being disabled in Excel.

If I try to re-enable the add-in a browse dialog opens asking for a file. Assuming that the requested file is the one listed under Location for the Add-in I give it the full path & filename : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\RoleTailored Client\Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.ExcelAddin.vsto

This brings up an error saying that this file is not a valid Office Add-in.

This is the same folder shared between all other users and they do not have this issue. I am a bit confused and not sure how to resolve this.

Is anything can be done other than recreating this user login. It will be really great if there is any file that I need to copy to his login as this is a shared login for factory.

Regards,

Cecil

check the file permissions of that file acc. that user.

The access is setup on the folder level for a user group. All other users in this group can export to excel without any issues. I have also tried giving full access to the file for the entire group but still no luck.

    Thanks

best you remove the excel addin using nav 2013 setup and reinstall it.

Group policy settings on the terminal server may be restricting copy paste functionality.

    please check the below settings

Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Windows Components \ Remote Desktop Services \ Remote Desktop Session Hosts \ Device and Resource Redirection \ Do not allow clipboard redirection

Copy/Paste function does work. This is the export to excel function in NAV. All other users in the same group can use this function without any issues. It is only happening to one user. When exports, he gets a blank page with no data in it

Easiest solution would be reinstall NAV from scratch. (Most probably this will sort the issue)
