I have an old AX version (3.0) who is running on SQL 2005 server. I have also in the same eviroment a SharePoint 2013 installation who is running on SQL 2008 server.
I want to operate only one SQL server (with several databases of course) so can I use SQL 2012 or 2014 to operate AX 3.0?
It will save me an overhead to run only one SQL against all the servers who need SQL database.

Hi Sandri,
Officially it will not be supported. However official Microsoft support has already ended for AX3.0. You can try to migrate to SQL 2012/2014 using the compatibility level to SQL 2005.
I would suggest to test this first extensively in a separate environment.
