    Equally Assignment

    • Use this when you want to distribute the total charge evenly across all items or lines.
    • Example: If you have a $100 delivery charge for an invoice with 4 items, and you want each item to absorb an equal share of the cost, you would use Equally Assignment. Each item would then be assigned a $25 charge.

    Amount Assignment

    • Use this when you need to assign a specific amount to each item based on its individual cost or quantity.
    • Example: If you have a $100 charge and you want to allocate $30 to Item A, $40 to Item B, and $30 to Item C based on their costs or quantities, you would use Amount Assignment. Each item receives the exact amount specified

    Hello Josh,

Business Central suggests a distribution of the item charge to the relevant document lines by using the Suggest Item Charge Assignment action, which offers the following distribution options:
    • Equally - The cost of the item charge is assigned equally to all lines in the Item Charge Assignment (Purch) window.
    • By Amount - The cost of the item charge is assigned according to the content of the Line Amount field in each original line.
    • By Weight - The cost of the item charge is assigned according to the sum of weight of the items (configured on an item card) in each original line.
    • By Volume - The cost of the item charge is assigned according to the sum of volume of the items (configured on an item card) in each original line.
You can read more about processing item charges on the module below.

Hi, Take freight as an example
Equally assignment: Regardless of the value of the items, whether it is glass or diamonds, their shipping costs are the same.
Amount assignment: It has something to do with the value of the items. The higher the price, the higher the freight.

Hope this can give you some hints as well.
    Thanks.
    ZHU
