Automatic input focus on first (or any) editable field of a page with the Dynamics NAV Universal App

We would like to use the Dynamics NAV Universal App for our Warehouse employees on mobile devices and tablets. However a Major drawback is the lack of "Automatic input focus on first (or Focus on a specific) editable field of a page. 

This makes the usage of the App in combination with Barcode Scanners not userfriendly as the users each time Need to click to the specific field they want to scan to.

The fact is described in the DOCs sections and I also can understand the reasons for the behaviour - however does anyone know a Workaround or has a tip to make the NAV UWP more compatible with Scanners? 

The web Client has the required functionality but is not that userfriendly on a tablet device or even not usable on a small screen device. 

I appreciate any helpful feedback.

    Unfortunately the UWP app has this "limitation" and the reason for this behavior is to prevent the in-app keyboard from initially displaying and occupying screen space. As far as I know, there's no way to control this behaviour.

    Hi Stefano,

    thank you for your answer. Is there a Uservoice Forum where we could place this as a requirement for the UWP app?

    Do you agree that this means for Clients to go with web Client (as input focus on fields is here doable), third party or custom solution (via web Services e.g)?

    You can post your request here (in this thread if you want), I’ll share it also internally with the team. I can agree that the UWP app for scanning has a limit for that behaviour.

    This is a feature request for the Dynamics NAV Universal APP:

    As discussed in this thread it would be very helpful for companies to choose weather there is an Input Focus on any or a particular filed when open pages in the App. By having this Option we could use Microsoft's UWP app also in scenarios where we users work manly with barcode Scanners.

    This would give much more value to the app as it does not require customers to make major Investments in 3rd Party solutions (which also have their USP) or create custom solutions.

    While the web Client in General ist great it is not usable on small screen devices.

    We appreciate a positive Response :)
