Is there a way to set the record line max to 999,999,999 and default it this way in the system for reports versus having to manually change each time we look in the g/l?

Hey Ashley,
I assume Smartlist is what you are referring to. The below is pertaining to Smartlist Designer and not Smartlist Builder.
You can set the default number in the Smartlist options window.
Administration >> Setup >> System >> SmartList Options
The problem doing this is Smartlist is not a reporting tool. It is a query tool. You will very likely start to see performance issues or other problems once you start to exceed 5000 records (give or take as your environment does also play a role). In support, we don't support anything over 5000 records in Smartlist as it is not designed to be a reporting tool and a query tool.
If you need something like a smartlist for a large data set, you would be better off looking at an actual report to be created.

Do you mean Smartlists and the number of records returned?
