DynamicsAX 2009 : After creating new entity, Getting journal number with prefix

(1) ShareShare

Posted on by 133

I have created new entity in Dynamics Ax. Now I want to post invoice to the DynamicsAx but I am getting the Journal Number with Prefix.

For E.g. 'INV_Jr000005_01' getting this journal number with prefix 'INV_Jr' But I need only the number part '000005_01'.

Here, I think that some setup related to posting journal  is missing after creation on new entity. I have created journal names, number sequences, Posting profiles etc.

What is still we need to do for getting only number from dynamics Ax?

Does anyone has any idea regarding journal numbers creation for new entity?

    Hi Bhavesh,

Create number sequence with the required format and reference it in General ledger parameter set up form.

    Hello Bhavesh Gohel,

Are you using AX2009 or AX2012 or even d365FO?

About the number sequence: You should be able to configure them in the AP parameter form.

I would recommend that you make a change at the end of a fiscal period (month, quarter, etc.) because it might look odd if number sequences simply change from one day to the other one.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello,

For some of the old entity the journal numbers are '000005_01' instead of  'INV_Jr000005_01'. So, Is there any setup is missing here which seperate the 'INV_Jr' & '000005_01'?

Can you please give list of setup needed similar to number sequence, journal names etc?

As it works for old entity, So I think there might be some setup missing here after creation of new entity. If you can give list of setups to be done at the time of entity creation then also it is helpful.

    Thanks for the response.

    Hi,

Go to organization administration > number sequence,

    1. Enter number sequence code, name, select scope parameters as company, select your legal entity in company field.

    2. Remove the company in the segments, add the segments as shown below and save number sequence.

    3. After save generate the number sequence.

    4. Go to general ledger parameters set up form >  number sequences > Journal batch number > select the number sequence which you generated.

    5. Now go to General journals > new. you can see the number sequence with expected format.

Note : If you want to change the number sequence for the journal vouchers.

Go to Journal set up > Journal name >select the journal. In voucher number  series select the number sequence which you created.

    Hi,

I have got the solution after the finding and research.

Actually I have the journal name saved with capital letters 'INV_Jr', It should be saved as 'Inv_Jr' and its work for me.

Now I have got the actual Journal number without prefix INV_Jr.

So, here I suggest that you need to take care of case for the values created as journal names, number sequence etc.

Thank you for all your answer.
