How to remove menu item from customized module - AX2012

Hi All,
 
We need to remove customized menu item from customized module in AX 2012, but when are unbale to see the option to remove/delete in Module in AOT.
Is there any way that we can remove it.
 
We are getting the below option when right click on the menu item in Menus node:

    If I understand the problem correctly, you shouldn't do anything in the context menu of the Menu node. Expand the menu, find the menu item and press Delete.

    Thank you Martin for the quick response.
    Tried selecting the menuitem from menus and tried to press delete button, nothing happened.

    Have you click on the open button and then try deleting menu items from there?

    Are you logged in the layer where the menu item was added to the menu?

    Hi Martin,
     
    Tried in USR model and able to add or remove the menuitem.
     
    We are deploying the changes from CUS layer only for any changes. what will happen to the removed menuitem in next deployment which we will deploy from CUS model.
     
    Please advice.

    When we try to open the menu item , it is directly opening the related form.

    What will happen if you make changes in USR layer of your development environment but never deploy these changes to other environments? Obviously, nothing will happen; the changes won't be deployed if you don't do it. And if you say you must develop in CUS, then developing in USR is a mistake.
