Visual Studio Tools for AX 2012

Hello,

I want to install the VS Tools. In the AX 2012 R3 setup I only have the option "Visual Studio 2013 Tools", but my VS version is 2015.

The AX prerequisites gives these errors:

"Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 is required in order to install the Visual Studio 2013 Tools for Microsoft Dynamics AX"

"Install a supported version of Visual Studio."

So I must install VS 2013???? Thanks for any suggestion.

    Ye, if you are on CU8-AX2012-R3 or above version you can use 2013.

    Else if you are using R3, RTM or below version, you have to use VS2010.

    Hi Agostino,

    VS 2015 is indeed not supported by this R3 setup. You can read the required software in the AX 2012 System requirements guide.

    Thank you André. In the pdf they talk about the CU8, we have the CU10. Do you confirm that also the CU10 requires VS2013?

    Microsoft does release comptability documents and refresh the system requirements whenever it is supported. There has been no such information coming out for 2012 R3 CU10 or the to-be-released CU11. VS2015 is unsupported as of now and there is not even rumours when it will be available.

    Yes, also CU10 still requires VS2013.
